The WiFI Option supports all TrustGate models with a USB port
Q: How is the WiFi applied to the TrustGate?
The TrustGate needs to be upgraded to the version 13 eased in February 2011, and then you need a WiFi USB dongle from Secomea,which you plug-in to the USB port of the TrustGate.
Q: Can I use any WiFi dongle?
No, you will have to use the dongle that has been initialized with code by Secomea
Q: Can I have multiple WiFi networks on the same TrustGate?
Yes, you can define up to 3 different SSIDs that applies to the LAN, AUX and WLAN ports. The SSID you define for AUX, is bridged to the wired AUX port, and the SSID for LAN is bridged to the LAN port. The WLAN can be considered a new routed VLAN that is not bridged to any wired port, but for which you can define separate firewall rules.
Q: Does it support all 802.11 modes
It supports 802.11 b (11 Mbps), g (54 Mbps) and N (300Mbps) standards.
Q: Which security standard are supported?
The WiFi option supports WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK with TKIP or AES data encryption, which has been the dominent standards for some years now, and supported from Windows XP and forward
Q: Can I boost the signal with an antenna?
Secomea does not provide antenna boosting equipment, but with the product is included a USB extension cable that allow you to place the dongle itself in a spot with better signal conditions.
