When efficiency of a power plant depends on the regular operation of an automated cleaning device, knowing the device to perform at its best is crucial. For Explosion Power, based in Lenzburg in Switzerland, the monitoring problem was challenging. More than 400 of its Shock Pulse Generators are in operation in 20+ countries around the world.
The Shock Pulse Generator is an online boiler cleaning equipment automatically generating shock pulses by pressurized gas combustion. The vibrations created within the boiler remove deposits adhering to the heat transfer surfaces. Shock Pulse Generators are used in different fields of application ranging from Waste to Energy and biomass plants, coal fired power plants, filters and many more.
Explosion Power chose Secomea to help monitoring and accessing its Shock Pulse Generator fleet by installing a SiteManager 1139 to every control cabinet. The communication is via a SIM card and the mobile phone network or the customer’s internet access.
The data exchanged via SiteManager and LinkManager allows Explosion Power to monitor the performance of its Shock Pulse Generators helping to keep power plant boilers clean and hence running at maximum efficiency.
There’s a benefit for Explosion Power customers too. Secomea has helped Explosion Power to reduce its long-term maintenance and support costs.
Our Swiss distributor and partner, SATOMEC AG, was the supplier of the Secomea remote-access solution to Explosion Power. SATOMEC continues to support Explosion Power in its use of Secomea.
