REMOTE ACCESS FOR MACHINE BUILDERS

Provide fast and effective support, utilize your resources more effectively and enhance your service.

Remote access for machine builders makes servicing machines easy and effective. Ensure instant connectivity to remote equipment and provide fast and effective maintenance on machines without compromising customers’ stringent security policies.

Ensure remote access to machines from anywhere.

ENSURE REMOTE ACCESS TO MACHINES
FROM ANYWHERE

More advanced machines, higher demand for machine uptime, physical access constraints, and increased IT security policies are just a few of the challenges that machine suppliers and factory owners need to solve together.
Demand for 24/7 operations has increased in recent years, and manufacturers now more than ever depend on their machine suppliers to act on issues quickly to minimize facility downtime.

It is challenging for machine builders to troubleshoot and monitor machine issues without visiting a production site, requiring customers to shut down equipment, sometimes for days, until a maintenance operator arrives on-site.

PROVIDE CUSTOMERS WITH IMMEDIATE SUPPORT

With remote access, machine builders can ensure 24/7 connectivity to industrial networks and individual devices, such as a PLC and HMI, allowing service teams to remotely manage equipment at field sites and react fast to operational issues. Offering the valuable ability to identify machine problems from a remote location, solve most of them remotely, and where remote repair isn’t possible, be fully prepared before sending machine operators to customer sites.

Remote access to connected machines makes industrial equipment accessible despite its location while greatly simplifying and expediting the troubleshooting and maintenance process.

The job of servicing machines just got much more effective.

“It is difficult to know exactly what the problem is until you visit the site, so we cannot prepare adequately, and our customers have to shut down their equipment until our visit. With remote access operation could be restored sooner, contributing to the stability of customer facilities

-Kazuhiro Watanabe, General Manager at Okura Service Co., Ltd

Allow technicians to become more productive, and use your resources more effectively with remote access.

USE YOUR RESOURCES MORE EFFECTIVELY

Connect to remote machines and industrial devices to view and control interfaces, monitor equipment, and install updates. When service technicians solve their maintenance tasks remotely, and without site visits, they can provide faster and more effective support while saving on time and travel costs.

Utilize the recovered resources on other tasks, allow technicians to become more productive, and use your resources more effectively.

PUT MORE KNOWLEDGE IN THE HANDS OF SERVICE OPERATORS

Remote access places knowledge in the hands of service engineers. When they have more information about each machine asset on the factory floor, they can work smarter and make better decisions. Make better use of your service team and allow engineers to minimize downtime through swift and early interventions.

Remote access for machine builders is the key to well-optimized maintenance resources and increased productivity.

FAST AND EASY INSTALLATION WITH
REMOTE COMMISSIONING

Machine builders need to deliver a flexible, reliable, and competitive machine on time and on budget. A productive commissioning phase is crucial and requires effective utilization of resources, which helps the client hit the market faster and in a cost-efficient manner.

THE TOOL FOR COLLABORATION BETWEEN TECHNICIANS AND CUSTOMERS

Commissioning, installation, and testing is faster and easier when the installation team and customers can get ongoing support and assistance from remote automation engineers. It decreases the complexity of the commissioning processes, as technicians can solve many tasks remotely, for example, testing systems and settings and adjusting the program code on a PLC and HMI.

Machine builders can access the ideal tool for collaboration between technicians and customers, saving both time and travel expenses. This allows technicians to be more productive, use their resources more effectively, and ultimately avoid delays.

“By fixing faults or errors remotely we’re also saving time and energy on service engineer visits. Most of all we’re providing a far better service – a time-critical, 24/7 support package offering comprehensive process control through our own GEA Omni control panels„

– Mike Henson, Service Director at GEA Refrigeration UK Ltd

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You ensure instant connectivity to machines and can respond quickly to operational issues and minimize downtime at customer sites. Remote access is key to enhancing your service, allowing technicians to become more productive, and using your resources more effectively.

The solution is easy to deploy and intuitive to use. With just a single click, you establish a secure remote connection to equipment and can begin your service task immediately. The drag-and-drop design simplifies the user experience and can be managed, maintained, and used by all non-IT people.

The Secomea solution is generally accepted by many larger organizations within many industries but most importantly, it is security audited against the most recent security standards, such as IEC 62443, NIST and BSI. The solution also has various features to help the customer be in full control. Visit our Cybersecurity Page to find out more.

No. The Secomea solution is machine agnostic, so the machine will not know whether someone connects to it locally or via a SiteManger IoT gateway. You just need to fit the SiteManager in the machine cabinet DIN rail, or if you have Windows or Linux based HMI or IPC, you can install the software version of the SiteManager on it.

You create a LinkManager client account. The engineer logs into a cloud server, where the accessible equipment is listed, based on how an administrator in your company has organized your customers. The first time the engineer connects to a device, such as a PLC or HMI, a client software is automatically installed on the PC and creates a transparent end-to-end VPN tunnel directly to the device.

Yes. The central server called GateManager is available as both a cloud service and an on-premise server. In the administrator interface, you can create domain structures and centrally manage all user accounts, fleet manage IoT Gateways (configuration, firmware upgrades), alerts etc.

With Secomea, you can access any type of industrial equipment remotely. A single SiteManager IoT Gateway allows you to connect simultaneously to up to 100 devices of all types and brands of industrial equipment via Ethernet, Serial, or USB ports, and several users can be connected concurrently via the same IoT Gateway.
