Industry 4.0 – the theme of SPS IPC Drives 2015

The fourth industrial revolution is now reaching a stage, where it effectively places the Internet of Things (IoT) and remote access security aspects into an executable context of the “Smart factory”.
A natural extension of the security certification Secomea obtained in 2014 was therefore to make a similar assessment based on the Reference Architecture Model Industrie 4.0 (RAMI4.0), with reference to IEC/PAS 62443-3.

By November 2015 Secomea obtained the official Industry 4.0 compliance & enablement certificate based on an audit conducted by the German security organization ProtectEM GmbH led by the active member of the I40 security committee Professor Dr. Peter Fröhlich.

The result of the audit is a clear validation that the solution components GateManager, SiteManager and LinkManager are in scope
with the current state of the RAMI4.0 architecture and suitable as I40 enablers. Based on the report our aim for 2016 is to further demystify I40 in relation to secure remote access and to provide guidelines for processes and procedures for solution deployment fully aligned with the I40 criteria.

TECH INFO: Release 6.1 ready this week

Following the major release 6.0, we now follow up with release 6.1 that includes fixes and improvements in the following areas:

GateManager: Further improvement of UNICODE support and support for cross-platform configuration profiles, which allows configuration of both hardware and software SiteManagers using the same profile. Additionally new languages have been added to the Startup Wizard introduced in release 6.0, so it now supports Danish, English, French, German, Italian, Polish and simplified as well as traditional Chinese.
SiteManager: Minor bug-fixes and memory optimizations specific to SiteManager Embedded.

LinkManager: Support for Layer2 on Windows XP and minor bug fixes in relation to UNICODE support.

The releases will be made available on our support portal this week together with detailed release notes. Upgrade of the hosted GateManagers will happen next week following an email notification to the GateManager administrators this week.
